Take a virtual tour of the Catskills Boxing Gym in New York.

Located in Catskills, New York, this boxing gym is the home to former greats such as Floyd Paterson, Jose Torres, Wilfred Benitez and Mike Tyson and was run by the legendary trainer in Cus D’Amaoto.

I’m informed that the gym is open to visitors and onlookers, BUT you are highly advised to call first on 518-965-9926 and you must not disrupt what they are doing. It is possible that you can train there as well but again, call them first.

If you are serious about a boxing career they have an application form on the website where you can provide your details and they will consider taking you in. The deal is that you must be able and willing to move to New York.

click here to go to the Trinity Boxing Gym Website

Trinity boxing gym is located on the lower part of the island of Manhattan New York, USA. The trinity gym was founded over one hundred years ago by Lorenzo Snow and is now run by his great grand son, Martin Snow. Lorenzo had a very impressive fighting record that spanned over just 6 years with 162-2 and 156 Knockouts. The fighters who trained there back in the day reads like a who's who of boxing, with James Corbett and Bob Fitzsimmons, John L. Sullivan and even famous authors such as Jack London and Ernest Hemingway as well as NYC Police Commissioner Theodore Roosevelt.

Trinity Boxing Club is a family business. My brother John runs it, and my nephew Raphael rules it. I don’t think of it as a gym, but as a club, where people of all different backgrounds share a common goal – to learn how to fight. Our “fighters” are male and female, adults and kids, young and old, who moonlight as doctors, lawyers, students, teachers, actors and every other profession under the sun. Their “fights” are the ones everyone faces – fear, stress, depression, obesity, etc. The difference is they choose to meet their opponent in the middle of the ring, not backed into a corner.

This gym is situated in the heart of London and is open for international travellers to go in and use the facilities. The gym attracts fighters from all around the world to train there.

And whilst Rooney's Gym is primarily a boxing gym created for professional boxers and their coaching teams, John Rooney Jnr. is a firm believer that the facilities should be available for all pugilist arts exponents, regardless of age or experience, and as such has enlisted the services of world class coaches who have the experience to assist anyone, whether professional, amateur or those that just want to box for fitness, to achieve their goals.

Amongst their top trainers are: Terry Edwards John Rooney Jr Marianne Marston and Ben Day

They have a good mix of programs available with one on one, white collar boxing and boxing based workout classes.

I personally contacted this gym for research for this article and they are very friendly and helpful, so going from that I can safely assume that it is a great environment to train in.
